Superfast broadband is coming – check if you’re included!
As part of a “Connecting Devon & Somerset” project, network provider Airband is under contract to provide high-speed fibre broadband connectivity (FTTP) to premises with slow connections and is working on rollout in our area.
To find out whether or not your property is included, visit the www.airband.co.uk website. Enter your postcode into any of the “check availability” boxes. The website will return one of three messages:
‘Great News you can get superfast broadband’ that is referring to fixed wireless but this is not made clear.
‘Your address is part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CFS) funded project’ this means you are due to get FTTP.
‘You’re one step closer to the getting connected’ it means Airband are building in your approximate area and you may get offered a connection, but your premise isn’t in the CDS contract.
You can register your interest with Airband using the website.
In addition, South Hams District Council has established a Community Broadband initiative to identify digital connectivity solutions to homes/businesses struggling with poor broadband. There is more information here: https://southhams.gov.uk/community-broadband

And we will then have quite an informal Sustainability group meeting from 6pm.
It’s a chance to meet, to talk about the art and any issues, thoughts and emotions that it stirs, to get updates about various projects, and to drink tea and eat cake!
The art show will also be open over the weekend in the hall from 10am to 4pm.
There are paintings, drawings, photos, graphics, sculpture, poems, and prints, from, among others: Sarah Gillespie, Paul & Pam Biddle, Victoria Benns, Penny Cazzola, John Churchill, Pen Piper, Susi, John & Sune Nightingale, and more.
Some are for sale and proceeds will go to the Gara River Water Vole Reintroduction Project. https://www.beginbystarting.co.uk/blog/gara-water-vole-reintroduction-project
