The Village Hall

At the top of the village opposite the Red Lion Inn is the Village Hall. It was formerly the village school, built in 1843 for 160 pupils. The school closed in 1968 and the building was later leased to the village, to be run by the village for the village. An active committee oversee the running of the hall.

It has been completely refurbished and is now a wonderful venue for all types of functions. It has hosted a wide variety of events including acting as a theatre for the Ditsum Players, as an art gallery, a place for weddings and parties, fundraisers, auctions, and of course the weekly use for our football team and bowling club.

The Village Hall is available to hire at a very reasonable cost, has stunning views of the River Dart, plenty of tables and chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. For more information, to see the venue or to make a booking please contact us.

The Village Hall is working to raise funds.
