The Ditsum Players

Founded in the 1980’s the Ditsum Players was the brainchild of Patsy Heighway who lived in Middle Meadow. She had the ambition to have ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ performed in her garden. The show was a huge success and over the next years the company put on many productions, more Shakespeare and a number of short plays. The company took part in the Dart Drama Festival for a number of years and also took a show to the Teignmouth Festival.

In recent years there has been a bit if a lull in shows, due principally to the original cast and crew aging somewhat, but it is now in the process of re-invigorating with performances planned for late 2018 and into 2019.

The company has been been blessed by having a number of ex professional people behind the scenes that have managed to create an above average amateur company.
